AT&T Mobility touts 500-ton cut in paper, plastic use

AT&T Mobility says its sustainability efforts reduced paper and plastic use in its products by 500 tons in 2010 and 2011. The carrier pointed to such moves as paring back packaging material, using "greener" plastic and deploying more energy-efficient phone chargers. "The industry is getting better" overall, said Michael Cowan, AT&T's accessories director.
