Experts disagree on best way to fight Legionella in water systems

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has touted chlorination as the best way to keep Legionella out of buildings' water systems, but overall, experts disagree over which prevention method or methods are optimal. "The available data is still very limited, and the various manufacturers all believe theirs is best. The type of national study to look at all these various systems has simply not been done," said Glenn Morris, director of the Emerging Pathogens Institute at the University of Florida.
