Review links type 2 diabetes, pancreatic cancer

People with type 2 diabetes face a 50% to 100% increased risk of developing pancreatic cancer compared with those who do not have diabetes, according to a review in Molecular Carcinogenesis. Insulin resistance, hyperglycemia, hyperinsulinemia and inflammation may help explain the link between type 2 diabetes and pancreatic cancer, the lead author said.
