Class I's to gain more business as river shippers pick rail

Kansas City Southern and Union Pacific are expected to see additional business as shippers along the Mississippi River transfer more cargo from barges to rail. Falling water levels on the river, tight barge capacity and rising freight volume are expected to propel more demand for rail service this month, according to a Jefferies research report.
