Co-teaching gains recognition in Vt. school

Students with disabilities who need speech and communication support at Milton Elementary School in Vermont are spending more time in the classroom thanks to speech-language pathologist Justin Lee. Lee, recently named the school's Outstanding Teacher, works with teachers in a co-teaching setting to provide students the support they need in the classroom, so they do not always have to leave the room for services. "To be in the classroom gives me such a richer understanding, and it really helps me to figure out how I can support the students I need to support," she said.
