Content issues snag Intel's Internet TV plans

Intel is facing delays in launching its planned online TV service and related hardware business, largely because of its inability to secure content from media companies, according to a published report that notes the chipmaker's scheme to enter the pay-TV arena was first reported in March. The company, which has long tried to push its technology into set-top boxes or TVs, has reportedly pitched content providers on backing a Web-based service with a similar economic model to multichannel service providers.
