Federal judge expands janitors' lawsuit against Wal-Mart

Janitors who worked at Wal-Mart stores from 2000 on can opt in to a lawsuit alleging they were underpaid as contractors for the retailer, a federal judge has ruled. Attorneys for Wal-Mart called the decision "a very standard preliminary step," but the move triggers a notification process that will inform certain workers they could join in the lawsuit.
