Dell to sit back as rivals offer OpenStack public clouds

The OpenStack platform is "not where it needs to be" for Dell to feel comfortable about releasing a product based on it, executive Nnamdi Orakwue says. Brandon Butler writes that that stance may put Dell behind competitors, noting that Hewlett-Packard and Rackspace Hosting have launched public clouds that incorporate OpenStack, and IBM is working on an OpenStack-based cloud service.
