Digital health startup to design smart bottles for liquid drugs, pills

AdhereTech wants to boost the efforts of digital health companies to promote patient medication adherence by developing an innovative smart bottle that is capable of detecting when pills as well as liquid drugs are missed. The firm could identify nonadherence by looking at the dosage schedule of patients and comparing it with the data gathered from the bottle and transmitted to a HIPAA-compliant cloud server. AdhereTech is planning to launch the smart bottles in HIV, cancer and transplant drug markets.
