VA choice for claims system work raises questions

A company that was awarded a $105 million contract from the Department of Veterans Affairs to help decrease the backlog of disability claims has been harshly criticized for work it has done in the past for the federal government. The contractor is set to receive about 21% of the total amount budgeted for the Veterans Benefit Management System, an initiative that VA Secretary Eric Shinseki has called crucial to the department's efforts to reduce the claims backlog by 2015.
