Gerard slams U.S. approach to domestic energy resources

American Petroleum Institute President and CEO Jack Gerard criticized the U.S. government's approach to domestic oil and natural gas resources, saying the country is moving in the wrong direction by studying new hydraulic fracturing rules and delaying a decision on TransCanada's Keystone XL pipeline. Promoting oil and gas production would support American jobs, national security and revenue generation, Gerard said.
