Researcher sees growing market for alternative sweeteners

Domestic demand for alternative sweeteners, particularly ones derived from stevia, will increase 3.3% yearly through 2015, according to Freedonia. The market researcher said growth potential is not yet known for a monk fruit sweetener that gained FDA approval in 2010. The firm predicted that demand for aspartame will remain healthy.
