AMR Corp., the parent company of American Airlines, said it will decide soon on a possible merger with US Airways. "While I cannot give you a precise date, I can tell you that we expect to bring this to conclusion within a matter of weeks," wrote AMR CEO Tom Horton in a memo to employees. A merger between American and US Airways would create the world's largest airline in terms of passenger traffic.
