Older wide-body airliners to see spike in MRO needs

Older wide-body airliners are fast approaching a time when they'll be due for major refurbishment and modifications, providing plenty of demand for airframe maintenance specialists, write Paul Seidenman and David Spanovich. In fact, there may already be a shortage of wide-body MRO capacity, a situation that "is giving leverage to the suppliers, in that the airlines have to reserve slots over a longer time horizon than in the past," said Jonathan Berger, vice president for MRO Practice at ICF SH&E.
