Sweetwater Energy and Ace Ethanol have signed a cellulosic-ethanol deal involving a facility that will be completed by next year. Under the terms of the agreement, Sweetwater will build, own and operate a facility that will supply cellulosic feedstock to Ace, and more such facilities could be built to support Ace's production facility in Wisconsin. "Ace Ethanol has been bench testing Sweetwater's cellulosic material for some time and we're confident that this project will be commercially profitable," said Ace President and General Manager Neal Kemmet. "With Sweetwater, we'll move from 100% corn to a combination of corn starch and 7% cellulosic sugar as our feedstocks."
