N.J. governor nominates retired police captain to casino board

Gov. Jon Corzine nominated a former state police captain to the board of the New Jersey Casino Control Commission. Edward Fanelle's nomination must be confirmed by the state Senate before he can assume office for a five-year term. Corzine's nomination of a union official instead of a casino representative for the Atlantic City Convention and Visitors Authority has sparked a review by legal counsel.
