In-house legal teams can provide valuable services to companies as they draft and apply social media policies, writes Darin Klemchuk. When a company is hiring via social channels, clamping down on employees who've gone rogue or trying to create workable rules for a social media team, legal teams have a role to play, Klemchuk writes. "Social media has not only opened new avenues for communications and brand marketing but also has added whole new ways to infringe on those efforts. For in-house counsel, protecting the company and the brand in cyberspace now is an integral part of the job," he writes.
