Survey: Hospitals concerned over vendor compliance with new codes

A recent survey showed that the majority of hospital chief information officers have not been informed by their health IT vendors about plans to comply with new new ICD-10 code sets and transaction standards scheduled for implementation within the next few years. The respondents said they expect the new codes and standards to improve the accuracy of patient diagnoses and quality of care.
