AHIP: Compliance costs of proposed rules underestimated

According to an AHIP survey, the labor and IT costs for compliance with proposed rules on rate filings and data submissions were vastly underestimated by HHS. Actual costs could be up to 70% higher than HHS predicted and should be exempt from the administrative side of the medical loss ratio calculation because they are mandated, according to AHIP.
