All of Apache's fracking pumps to run on natural gas, exec says

Apache is poised to become the first company to have all of its hydraulic fracturing pumps be fueled by natural gas, an executive said. The company's goal is to reduce emissions associated with fracking, cut fuel costs by 40% and boost the consumption of natural gas, said Mike Bahorich, Apache's executive vice president of technology. "What's really motivating Apache is, if you think about it, I would challenge you to think of an idea that could generate more value for our economy and our environment than switching from oil to natural gas," he said.
