In 2012, fewer Utah passengers boarding with firearms

The Transportation Security Administration says it recovered 24 firearms in Utah last year, down from the 27 found in 2011. At Salt Lake City International Airport, TSA agents found 20 weapons in 2012, down from 26 the year before. "While one firearm at the checkpoint is one too many, we are pleased that the numbers in Utah are trending in the right direction and we are seeing fewer firearms in passengers’ carry-on bags," said Vera Adams, TSA's Federal Security Director for Utah.
