Lawmakers ask FCC to issue interoperability requirements

Four U.S. representatives have asked the Federal Communications Commission to set interoperability requirements for the lower 700 MHz band of the radio spectrum for cellphone networks. The four Democrats who signed the letter said consumers would benefit from greater choice and affordability and that interoperable networks would support the nationwide broadband network being developed for first responders.
