Manufacturers prepare for Pa. law requiring e-waste recycling

A Pennsylvania law taking effect Jan. 24 means that old televisions, computers and other electronic waste must be recycled through approved methods rather than thrown out with everyday trash. Electronics manufacturers must develop plans for the recycling of devices, and they must keep accurate records on their sales and recycling and report those to the state to avoid fines. The law contains an exemption for cellphones and PDAs.
