MGM's $2.5B Macau casino project wins government approval

MGM Resorts subsidiary MGM China received approval for its $2.5 billion casino project on Macau's Cotai Strip from the government Wednesday. In October, the company said it would give the government an initial payment of $56.4 million for a land concession contract. MGM plans to open the resort casino in 2016.
