PCs take the brunt of malware increase, report finds

Despite a rise in the number of new cyber bugs designed to wreak havoc on mobile devices, personal computers are still the target of choice for malware writers, according to a new threat assessment from Quick Heal Technologies. The company's "Quick Heal Annual Windows and Mobile Malware Report, 2012" found that while mobile malware infections increased 30% last year, the number of virus attacks directed at the Windows operating system was up 90%, with the Internet the primary platform for delivery.
