Supreme Court declines vets' lawsuit against VA

The Supreme Court will not hear a case in which former service members claim the Department of Veterans Affairs contributed to veterans' suicides by taking too long to process mental health claims. By not taking the case, the Supreme Court let stand a lower-court ruling that only Congress or the president can instigate reductions in the VA claims backlog.
