Modest weight loss seen in diabetes prevention programs

A meta-analysis of 28 studies using the structured intervention recommended by the Diabetes Prevention Program revealed a 3.99% average weight loss among participants. Greater weight loss was seen in programs with lay community educators than those with medical and allied health professionals as educators, sensitivity analyses showed. The findings appear in Health Affairs.
