Groups suggest new ideas to preserve historic Chicago hospital

Preservation efforts for the 1975-vintage concrete Prentice Women's Hospital in Chicago gained momentum as supporters released new design ideas for the building's reconstruction. A consortium of architects affiliated with National Trust for Historic Preservation, Landmarks Illinois and Preservation Chicago are among the groups that offered alternative designs. "We keep trying to show that there are ways to do it," said Jim Peters, former president of Landmarks Illinois.
