Scientists are developing a self-adjusting prosthetic socket

Researchers in the U.K. are using artificial intelligence to devise a self-learning system that will enable prosthetic sockets to adjust to changes in the residual limb. Scientists hope their innovation, still in an early stage, will help reduce medical costs and allow amputee soldiers to return to the field.
