Women face financial risks in retirement, experts warn

Women tend to outlive men and incur significant late-in-life health care costs, and those trends should affect financial decisions about retirement, according to the Society of Actuaries. For example, most married women who outlive their husbands are likely to receive only one spouse's Social Security benefits. Married women should plan for that by saving the smaller benefit or using it for expenses that aren't ongoing, the group suggests.
