Various stimulation techniques may hold promise for mental disorders

Some neuroscientists are exploring the use of various testing methods, such as PET imaging or functional MRI, to predict the effectiveness of a variety of treatments for mental conditions, including magnetic and electric stimulation therapy. Among these technologies are the Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, a technique cleared by the FDA for patients with treatment-resistant depression.
