Bondholders will weigh in on an American Airlines-US Airways merger

Bondholders at American Airlines, who hold more than $2 billion in debt, will consider whether the carrier should merge with US Airways, sources say. The bondholders met with American executives Tuesday, and plan to meet with US Airways executives today. The bondholders own a large enough chunk of the company that their agreement is necessary to proceed with a merger, the sources say.
