Earth-monitoring satellite is set to launch Feb. 11

A satellite that will monitor changes to Earth's landscape is scheduled to launch Feb. 11, NASA announced this week. The Landsat Data Continuity Mission satellite carries equipment that is more sensitive than earlier satellites and can better track changes to land surface, such as deforestation, melting glaciers and expansion of urban areas.
