FCC boosts telehealth in rural areas through $400M fund

A fund totaling $400 million will be provided by the Federal Communications Commission to assist rural care facilities and hospitals in building or adding to telehealth infrastructure. Nonprofit hospitals are eligible to boost their broadband networks so they can enable clinics to be linked to urban health facilities, exchange EHRs and facilitate remote consultation with specialists. Hospitals can apply for funds at the end of the summer.
