Aereo, which has raised the ire of broadcasters by offering a broadband-based television subscription service for $8 a month, will be expanding its network beyond New York City this year with $38 million in fresh funding from private investors. "We don't want to kill TV, we want to expand its access to people," CEO Chet Kanojia says in this interview. "TV needs to come online in a rational way. If you come to market and say, 'You have to pay $200 a month to get the four, six or eight channels that you watch,' that's just irrational," he adds.
