Italian cities push sustainability with concrete decks, plants

A vertical garden covering more than 13,000 square feet has sprouted at a shopping mall in Italy. The $1.3 million structure near Milan features more than 44,000 plants and is billed as the world's largest "living wall." The city will also boast a "vertical forest" on two apartment towers with "staggered and offset" concrete decks covered with trees and plants.
