Study recommends updated retinopathy screening approach

Screenings for retinopathy of prematurity risk should include gestational age and birthweight, according to a new study by Turkish researchers in the British Journal of Ophthalmology. Current screening practices fail to detect all cases, which can cause irreversible visual loss, researchers said.
