For young adults, are 2 insurance plans better than one?

Young adults who now have the option of staying on their parents' health insurance plans until they are 26 may face problems if they are covered by more than one policy. There are no rules addressing the issue, but an advocacy group for young adults is working with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners to address the issue. Double coverage may mean difficulty establishing which plan is the primary one and getting in-network care, but it can also mean a better coverage for beneficiaries if the secondary plan fills in any gaps in the primary plan.
