Final health bill to ensure mammogram coverage

The final version of the health reform bill is expected to require mammogram coverage for women starting at the age of 40 in response to the call of women's groups, physicians and imaging firms to guarantee coverage for breast cancer screening. Several advocacy groups lobbied lawmakers after the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force last year issued its guidelines, which recommended against routine mammograms for women in their 40s.
