ICM plans cellulosic plant next to corn-ethanol facility in Missouri

ICM plans to build this year a cellulosic ethanol demonstration plant adjacent to its corn-ethanol refinery in St. Joseph, Mo. The project design "makes a great deal of sense" because it could potentially cut costs in half, said Matt Hartwig, communications director of the Renewable Fuels Association. ICM has received a grant from the Department of Energy to help fund the facility, which is expected to cost $31 million.
