AMR seeks to trim aircraft leases in bankruptcy

AMR Corp., the parent company of American Airlines, is attempting to renegotiate aircraft leases during bankruptcy. "You look at age of aircraft, fuel-consumption costs, how many miles are on each aircraft, and what your plans are for upgrading your fleet," said bankruptcy attorney Kris Hansen. AMR has until Jan. 27 to submit plans for leases to the court.
