CES panel: Future TVs will collect more customer data

How future television sets will collect more data from consumers was discussed in a panel session at the International CES. Time Warner Cable, for example, is already collecting anonymous consumer data in 13 markets through its set-top boxes, letting advertisers know what programs families are watching without identifying specific households.
