Retention is low among Teach for Australia participants

Almost half of the teachers who participated in the first class of the Teach for Australia programme left the profession after two years, according to data from the controversial pilot programme. About 45 teachers began the programme in 2010, entering the classroom after six weeks of training. Of the programme's first recruits, 25 have continued teaching.
