Review evaluates treatments for venous leg ulcers

Application of topical cadexomer iodine along with compression healed venous leg ulcers better than standard care, a Cochrane systematic review found. The researchers found a lack of evidence to support systemic antibiotics or povidone iodine, peroxide-based treatments, ethacridine lactate, mupirocin or chlorhexidine in healing leg ulcers.
