Review verifies safety of lasers, Botox, liposuction

Laser treatment of broken blood vessels, port wine stains, rosacea, brown spots and hair is safe and effective when performed by a trained, board-certified physician, a review published in the journal Dermatologic Clinics found. Botox and similar neurotoxin injections to smooth wrinkles, and fat removal via liposuction were also found to be safe. Because they are newer, less evidence supports the safety and effectiveness of infrared or ultrasound skin-tightening procedures, and fat removal using low-level laser or super-cooling devices.
