Supplemental oxygen may be detrimental to emergency patients

A Dutch review in the Archives of Internal Medicine found that providing extra oxygen may harm patients taken to emergency departments. "There is not a single study that points to beneficial effects. All of the evidence that we found points to detrimental effects," said Dr. Yvo Smulders of VU University Medical Center in Amsterdam.
