Ala. city's government renews focus on customer service

Pelham, Ala., is seeking to increase public confidence in its leaders by inviting city employees to help create a pay plan to boost transparency and resolve litigation tied to proposed changes. The administration is also combining some departments, such as Revenue and Finance, to improve efficiency. "We are committed to delivering a different product, and that product is committed to customer service," said Mayor Gary Waters, who took office in November.
