In a survey of 1,328 licensed psychologists, 43% of respondents mentioned emotional eating as a weight-loss hurdle and 44% said understanding and regulating emotions and behaviors associated with weight is key to effective weight loss. Cognitive therapy, problem-solving and mindfulness are good weight-loss strategies, according to more than 70% of the respondents. The findings will be published in Consumer Reports magazine.
