Virginia institute focuses on sustainable water supplies

Engineers continue to raise concerns about water infrastructure systems in the U.S. after the American Society of Civil Engineers gave the nation's water infrastructure a "D" several years ago. A new research center at Virginia Tech will focus on creating sustainable water systems and solving water quality problems. Water chemistry, sensor technology and nanotechnology are just a few of the areas that scientists and engineers will consider.
