Nonprofit group helps parents of children with special needs

The nonprofit Kids with Exceptional Needs Project provides training for parents in the best ways to advocate for their children with special needs. Founded in 1996 by attorney Dina Kaplan, the K.E.N. Project helps parents access disability services and prepare for meetings with school officials to create and manage students' Individualized Education Plans.
